Personal injury protection (PIP) coverage is mandatory for nearly all auto insurance policies. With PIP coverage in place, you and all the passengers in the car are insured regardless of who is at fault for an accident (typically up to $15,000). It also covers you if you are a pedestrian or a cyclist. PIP insurance covers medical expenses and lost wages and will pay for your care of injuries, including costs and co-pays for chiropractic care, out-of-pocket prescription costs or other similar costs.

Do I need to see a chiropractor after a car accident even if I feel fine? Yes. It’s very common for auto accident injuries like whiplash, soft tissue strain, or joint irritation to take 24–72 hours (or longer) to show symptoms. Even low-speed accidents can cause hidden injuries that worsen without treatment. Getting checked early helps identify issues before they become long-term problems.
How soon should I get evaluated after an accident? The sooner, the better. Early evaluation allows us to document injuries, reduce inflammation, and start care before scar tissue and stiffness develop. Many patients in the Shelby, Gastonia, Belmont, and Charlotte areas come in within the first few days after their accident for this reason.
Do I need a referral or attorney to start care? No referral is needed. You can schedule directly with our office. If you already have an attorney, we are happy to coordinate with them, but it is not required to begin treatment. If you would like to acquire an attorney, we will be happy to refer you to one we trust.
