Dr. Rich Berkowitz has been practicing in the Cleveland and Rutherford County area for fourteen years. “We feel like we got incredibly lucky in finding these two great towns and we’ve never looked back,” says Rogers-Berkowitz. After opening the Shelby location in May of 1996, Rogers-Berkowitz opened the Forest City location some eighteen months later. Now fourteen years later, they employ three physicians at each site and they were the 2008 co-recipients of the “Physician of the Year” award. (Presented by a nationwide consulting firm, The Pro-Solutions Group out of Pittsburgh, Pa.) “We are extremely proud of what we have been able to build over the years and we are even more excited about our future. I was taught when I was extremely young about the importance of providing outstanding service and striving to exceed expectations. And that is the cornerstone of every patient interaction. We continue to work hard in bringing the latest technology to Cleveland and Rutherford counties,” says Berkowitz.
The doctors also take great pride in their 2 young boys Will and Jack and baby girl named Alyvia. Spending time with the family when not in the office is a priority for them. “We work very hard to set a good example for our children,” says Rogers-Berkowitz “What they see us doing shapes their minds for the future, so it is important that what we preach every day in the office, we utilize in our daily lives. That means exercising together, eating well and drinking water, getting plenty of rest and of course, getting adjusted!”
We have very family-oriented wellness clinics that have developed as patients have learned the basic principles of improving their health and well being. The clinics have a strong foundation in treating musculoskeletal conditions. Patients present with a wide array of ailments, including headaches, neck pain, arm pain, lower back pain, leg pain (sciatica), disc syndromes (bulging and herniated discs) and now even shoulder and knee pain. “Most of our patients can certainly be helped with their pain. The challenge becomes to help them stay pain free. We clearly understand the importance of the lifestyle choices we make today and the impact they will have on the quality of our lives down the road. We feel this is extremely important to coach and educate our patients on these most important principles. Simple things like drinking enough water everyday, getting enough cardiovascular exercise or eating the right proportions of foods can have a dramatic impact,” says Berkowitz. Hence the strong emphasis on “Wellness” is easily felt throughout both clinics.
A combination of the latest technology in chiropractic, a strong rehabilitation presence and an underlying tone of Wellness provide a unique and valuable patient experience. The Clinics are located at 145 West Dixon Blvd (across from carter Chevrolet) here in Shelby and at 152 W. Main Street in Forest City.
